Hi, It’s Genie!
Hello! My name is Eugene, but everyone calls me Genie. I’m a digital millennial who developed a passion for creating content after discovering Photoshop and MySpace at the age of 14.
Over the past 11 years, I’ve explored various facets of the communications and beauty industries. Ultimately, I found my niche in crafting messaging and content that fosters connections, always keeping the pulse of digital culture in mind.

About Eugene
Although I was born into the beauty industry, I made my official entry through the digital sphere as a blogger. However, it was my time prior to blogging that set the stage for my love of content creation and community.
During my time at Georgia State University, I interned for local LGBTQ+ publications in Atlanta, assisting with writing articles and office duties. Prior to graduating with a major in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations, and a minor in English, I was granted the opportunity to write a cover story.
Having always taken social media a little too seriously, or so said my friends, blogging was the natural next step to complement my Instagram photography.
This hobby helped me refine my ability to deliver messaging, create supporting content, and operate a digital “brand.” I eventually collaborated with then Korean Beauty mega-retailer Memebox, and The Very Good Light.
I officially dove into the beauty industry through public relations, working with diverse upcoming beauty brands at a boutique agency. It was here that I combined my content creation tendencies, “influencer” perspective, and the knowledge of someone deeply entrenched in the internet to create public relation and social media strategies for clients.
I’ve worked in many sectors of the beauty industry since my entry, including salon operations, marketing management, copywriting, product marketing, content production, hair industry pro-to-pro, natural hair, and event coordination. As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I find joy in uplifting and amplifying the voices of other marginalized individuals.
Now, I find myself helping others to create connections, get creative, and bring ideas to life through marketing strategy, social media, and creative support.
